Structural reliability analysis of offshore jackets for system-level fatigue design

Lattice systems such as offshore jackets and towers are weight-efficient support structures for wind energy oil gas units. Nevertheless, their light-weight is achieved at the expense of increasing proneness to fatigue failure, due many welded connections. Consequently, special attention be dedicated design hot spots. System-level methods aim calibrating reliability components achieve a desired target system reliability. These rely on accurate assessment probability which computationally demanding statistical dependence among limit states large number possible deterioration that need taken into account. In present paper, we develop novel approach, called truncation algorithm, estimate lower upper bounds extreme environmental within feasible computational time.
